“A Magnificent stay in the Great Smokey Mountains!!” We had a lovely time visiting your cabin! The panoramic views were breathtaking!! There were many options for us to relax. Indoors and out there were comfortable sitting areas. A large and well equipped kitchen, and dining area for entertaining. Outdoors we enjoyed the hot tub, the fire pit, breathtaking views and starry nights. Your home was beautifully decorated and the beds were very cozy. We were happily secluded but just a drive down the mountain to town if needed. Thank you for sharing you beautiful mountain home with us!! Looking forward to another stay at your Water Rock Retreat!!

“We loved every minute of our stay.” This cabin is just beautiful! We spent a week here. Mornings found us on the front porch enjoying the mountain air and the music of birds singing. It's a perfect location for just relaxing, bird watching or to set out on mountain adventures! Mingo Falls is nearby and the stunning view will have you wanting to stay for hours! Tom Branch, Juney Whank, Soco and Meigs falls are also nearby and all beautiful! We had several meals at the cabin and found all the pots, pans, utensils and table settings needed. It's a short drive to many restaurants and we located a Ruth's Chris restaurant on the Cherokee Indian Casino grounds for a special birthday celebration. I would highly recommend the Climbing Bear Creekside Cabin for anyone wanting to have an unforgettable mountain vacation!

“Nice and clean!!” What a view!! Owners were wonderful to work with. The kitchen had anything you needed to prepare meals. The hot tub was amazing! Large dinning area made it wonderful for meals. Kids as well as adults loves the game system. It was close enough to Gatlinburg yet gave you to feeling of being out and private. Best of all it was very clean!!! “Family Friendly Vacation Home” The American Patriot Haven was family friendly, my grandkids loved the rooms, and TV. My 5 year old grandson picked the bedrooms we were to sleep in and my granddaughter picked the TV programs we watched. They wanted to play basketball, but we did not have time. So, they decided we need to stay there again but next time stay longer. The location is perfect; it is close to everything we were interested in seeing. We have season tickets to Dollywood and were pleasantly surprised how quick it was to get there. The house was very clean and accommodating; it had everything we needed. Renee called to check on us and to see if we needed anything. That was a very nice personal touch. We will definitely stay again and recommend the rental to friends. “Convenient location; excellent value” Cabins are located just outside of the Gatlinburg strip, making it a very easy drive. There isn't much of a view, unless you're the type that enjoys being in the woods, but I wasn't there for sight-seeing. At under $400 for a three-day visit, the cabin served its purpose. It was mostly clean, but could have been better, and some things in the kitchen and bathroom could use updating. The cabins are stocked with cups and plates, and even some dish soap, among other small amenities, making meals (and leftovers) easier to prepare. The jacuzzi tub takes forever to fill, so be warned: start with hotter water than you think you'll want. My only actual complaint was that we got a cabin without a level parking area. All the other cabins seemed to have better parking. The area is quite hilly, and I drive a manual-transmission vehicle, so I had to back a wheel over a small, rounded curb every time. Overall, I was very satisfied during our stay, and would recommend this for someone who'd prefer a cabin over a mid-grade hotel.

“The Total Package” This cabin had everything and more! So pleased that it lived up to the photos and previous reviews! The owners thought of everything when it comes to outfitting the cabin from hangers in the closets to smore forks for the fire pit. It was clean, cozy, comfortable, and quiet. Just what we needed. The view on the back porch was perfect. The location is far enough out to be quiet but close enough to run into town for dinner plus. We utilized most everything in the cabin. We cooked on the grill, used the hot tub, made smores at the pit, played games, played pool, and cooked meals in the kitchen. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and more. Laundry was also completed before we left. I'm so glad I canceled another reservation to book this cabin. With 3 bedrooms and each having their own bath made a huge difference in our trip. We could all shower at the same time and still had plenty of hot water. Reservation process was simple and easy. Nice people to deal with and answered all my questions quickly. Our kids (son 17 and daughter 24) have asked to come back to The Smoky's and stay in this same cabin. Thank you for sharing your home with us! We made priceless memories!

“Best anniversary yet.” We brought our extended family to the Ferguson House for our 39th anniversary. Everyone loved staying here, it was large enough to accomodate all of us. The patio area with firepit, hot tub, waterfall, and views were particularily enjoyed in the evening. We cooked out on the gas grill and had a great time indoors and outdoors. We all would highly recommend Ferguson House. Thanks for letting us stay here. Hope to come back same time next year for our 40th anniversary.

“Love love love!” We had an absolutely wonderful stay! Anita was extremely helpful and the house was beautiful! We loved sitting outside and listening to the stream and the hot tub was perfect! Our stay was just what the doctor ordered and we loved every minute of it! The location of the cabin is amazing too because you are secluded while being a short drive from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We will definitely be back!

“Slice of heaven” I lost my husband of 34 years in 2005 and simply didn't want to return to the mountains until my dear friends convinced me it would do me good to go with them for a relaxing week-end at the Nelson's " retreat in the sky. I'm so thankful I went because we all had such a wonderful time. The home was impeccably decorated and had every amenity you could possibly ask for. The views were breathtaking particularly from the deck. The home sits on top of the mountain so it was as though we could just reach up and touch the clouds! Our days were spent exploring the many shops in Bryson City or nearby towns and our evenings were filled with laughter just relaxing in the jacuzi, playing card games & sharing life's stories. We are presently working out details for our next "Golden" getaway this summer at the Nelson's Retreat and we can't wait!

“comfortable and cozy” The cabin was neat and clean upon our arrival. It looked just like the pictures posted on-line. We had a great and interesting stay, with two days of high winds and power outages on our last day. But we had hot water and a cozy fireplace for our comfort. The neighbor's were very thoughtful and offered assistance during the power outage. A couple of recommendations would be to add a cutting board in the kitchen and instructions on the operation of the TV.

About Cherokee, North Carolina
This was the ancestral homeland of the Cherokee Indians, until they were driven out by the US government during the infamous Trail of Tears. Cherokee became ‘white man’s’ land for a time until Will Thomas handed 56,000 acres of the 135,000 square acres of it back in the late 1800s.
The descendants of around 1000 Cherokee Indians who escaped the clearances by hiding in the nearby mountains, can once again hold the Cherokee flag high in this north-western part of North Carolina. Today, the land is held in trust and you’ll find many signposts in the Qualla Boundary area written in Cherokee.
The Cherokee Indian tribe also own the huge Harrah’s casino complex and several hotels and restaurants in the area.
Outdoor types will love the fact the town is less than half an hour’s drive away from excellent hiking, swimming and trout fishing in the Smoky Mountains.

Go back in time to the late 18th century at the interactive Oconaluftee Indian Village. There you’ll find genuine Cherokee people weaving baskets, sculpting canoes and engaging in tribal dances (such as the Green Corn or Bear numbers).
